: Sorry to question the logic, but I had Achilles tendon surgery and wasn't supposed to stretch the tendon for 6 weeks- the Dr. said he would order a medical boot, unless I had "stiff work boots with at least a 2" heel" so the tendon wasn't stretched and the foot held firmly in one position- (I didn't mention HOW MANY pair I had that met that description)
: I wouldn't double-guess your Dr. but perhaps you did not quite get the diagnosis right??
I tend to agree, biker. Seems a logger heel would lower tendon tension while a lower or even "negative" heel (Earth Shoes, yuck) would tend to increase tendon tension. Whatever, a higher heel was prescribed. I'd think that a layered built-up heel (White's, Nick's, Wesco, etc.) would be useful allowing for more adjustment in the layers of the lift vs a one-piece heel and sole unit. BTW biker, yes, potential prescription candidates would be a consideration. :) bba
