I have to agree with you 100%... I wouldn't call the area prime real estate when it comes to boots or even leather. Before I even moved down here, quite honestly, all I ever heard from people are statements like "it's not boot weather" or "it's too hot to wear boots" or statements like that. I never understood it. Even when I lived in California and the thermometer said 105 or better, I will still in boots.. had no choice. Can't climb a power pole with out boots.

Boots and leathers are a life and second skin, but it doesn't seem to be that way down here. I certainly am not going to hit the Florida sun in the middle of the day in leather.. but boots still are worn. Never flip flops as many do. And with the amount of tourism down this way, those who flock to those areas are more about the vacation and good time and it's usually not involving leather or boots.

I'm still quite shocked that the new owner of Stomper's felt Florida was the ideal place to set up shop. But oh well.

I've said this for many years.. Florida isn't really the place to head to if you're looking for boot-central.

: Keep your money in your pocket if looking for boots and / or leathers in Central Florida. Central Florida is one of the largest cattle producing areas of the USA. Unfortunately, we "old school" people have to go down in the country about 100 miles to a "real" western store to get what we really want. There is the Boot Barn located in the middle of the tourist district, if they tells you anything, but you won't find the quality brands such as Wesco, White's, Nick's. There are three Red Wing stores located in various parts of the area, one in the tourist area as well.

: Don't be on the look out for booted and leathered guys. They are far and few between. Unfortunately, social media has cut into guys going out and "cruising". Additionally, I know I am going to get a lot of flack on this statement, but, many of the clubs are overrun by persons from the hispanic community, and will NOT tolerate their rudeness toward other ethnicity's. Disney alone has over 20K "alternative lifestyle" employees.

: If you want a half ass levi bar, there is BarCodes located on Edgewater Drive, just north of Fairbanks Avenue and of course, Hank's, who has the sleazy reputation for whatever goes on the patio, altho not discouraged. The Parliament House continue to be a gay mecca with ALL of their queens.

: What I see from my perspective, you might see it in a different light.
